Insight: The North East contact centre sector

At this years North East Contact Centre Awards, Leanne Chambers, Director of Client Solutions at greenbean by NRG greeted our region’s contact centre sector, addressing the significance of these annual awards and the Contact Centre Partnership’s mission to raise the profile of the rewarding career pathways available within the industry.

“greenbean by NRG is once again proud to headline this year’s awards which recognise the amazing talent and innovation behind the scenes of our region’s contact centres.”

“The North East ranks 1st amongst the UK regions in terms of employment with over 145 contact centres employing over 40,000 people.”

“The North East Contact Centre Awards are so important for our region and the continued success of our sector. We recognise the people who help team members develop their skills, improve performance and achieve career goals; and also those who challenge processes and methods of working to improve operational performance and value, championing the role of the contact centre within the broader organisation.”

“There has never been a better time to build a career within the contact centre industry, with many businesses now offering clearly defined career pathways from front-line into back office functions such as workforce management, quality and compliance, HR, IT and marketing as well as management.”

“With employment levels at a record high and the role of front-line advisors becoming increasingly complex, the contact centre sector has embraced modern day apprenticeships to develop and upskill employees – providing not only the skills they need, but professionalising the sector, raising aspirations and building careers.”

“greenbean by NRG is passionate about supporting the continued success and growth of the North East contact centre sector which relies on our ability to attract enough talent to meet employer demands. We have invested time and resource into the newly formed North East Contact Centre Partnership, a collaboration between the private and public sector to raise the profile of contact centre careers.”

“In this room, we all know what a great place the contact centre is to build a career, but we need this message to reach our future workforce and those who influence their career making decisions by sharing positive career progression stories and spreading the word about what great places they are to work.”

“By working together we will have a stronger voice. Each one of you here tonight is a role model for the sector and invited to become an ambassador and support the long term strategic plan to make the contact centre sector a ‘career of choice’.”

“On behalf of greenbean by NRG, I’d like to take this opportunity to say good luck to all of those companies and individuals shortlisted for an award tonight – we look forward to celebrating your achievements with you!”
