Job description

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and enjoy spending time outdoors, preferring not to be confined to a 9-5 office role? 

Our client is looking for Meter Readers across the UK! This is a fantastic role for someone self-motivated to work independently.

The ideal candidate will ensure customers receive accurate and up-to-date bills by collecting data from gas and electric meters, using a hand-held electronic device, and other equipment. There is a great deal of flexibility within this role, such as planning your route and managing your schedule and workload to achieve the targets set for the week by your field delivery manager.  

There will be an occasional need to walk longer distances as not all customers live in built-up areas, but you’ll get great exercise!

Working Hours:

  • Full-time flexible basis between hours of 8am - 8pm Monday-Sunday, working an optional 40, 42 or 45 hours per week

  • Part-time hours- Friday 4pm-8pm Saturday - Sunday 10am-6pm

  • Part-Time – Monday to Friday 4pm-8pm

Requirements: 

  • Approachable, presentable and polite and acts as an ambassador for the company

  • Physically fit due to the nature of the role

  • Required to plan and manage workload independently

  • Report any dangerous meter installations or suspected signs of tampering

  • Ability to work to targets

  • Self-motivated and energetic

  • Enjoy working outdoors

  • A full UK driving licence

  • Ability to work to timescales and under pressure

  • Flexible approach to tasks and working

  • Friendly personality with a professional approach to work

  • Pass screening and vetting standards and pass a DBS check

Full training is provided so experience is not necessary to become a Meter Reader.

Training information:  

  • 2 Days office based then 3 days field training

  • The week of training is fully paid

  • Please dress smart casual, a uniform will be issued within the induction

  • When parking on location please keep receipts to claim these expenses back
