Job description

We are looking for a Director of Communications to join CCW, the independent voice representing water consumers in England and Wales.  

This is a high-profile role at the centre of the water industry which will strategically address issues people care about and improve outcomes for millions of people.  If you love communications and helping people, this might just be the perfect role for you!  

In addition to a starting salary up to £76,000 depending on experience, you’ll also receive an attractive benefits package including civil service pension and flexible working.  

About CCW: 

We support thousands of people each year, providing free advice and helping people to resolve their complaints with their water company in an easy, caring way. We champion everyone’s needs and interests, completing and showcasing research that influences water companies, government, and the regulator to make change happen. 

The Communication’s Department is responsible for strengthening CCW’s influence and reputation through the media and stakeholder relationships, in order to deliver our campaign objectives.

What you’ll be doing:

 Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Communications is actively responsible for CCW’s Communications strategy and plans, plus the leadership of CCW’s communications team.

In common with all members of the CCW Executive team the role involves proactive leadership of CCW and ensuring best in class delivery of the role holder’s specific area of responsibility. 

Who we’re looking for: 

Although CCW is a relatively small organisation, it will be important that you are not daunted by such constraints and have an attitude that seeks out effective ways of making things happen. You will have a passion for Communications with demonstrable experience as an organisation

spokesperson as well as building relationships with stakeholders including MP’s/MSP’s. You will lead a team to deliver of efficient, influential, and modern sector-leading communications that put the consumers at the heart of everything we do as well as raising the profile and reputation of CCW. 

Salary & Benefits: 

A starting salary between £70,000 - £76,000
